Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP of Platelet Rich Plasma is an advanced treatment physicians have used to help repair damaged or injured tissues in your body. This minimally invasive procedure helps initiate your body’s regenerative process by harvesting the growth factors that platelets are known to contain. A patient has their blood drawn and it is then spun down and the concentrated platelets and growth factors are then used by reinjecting them into a targeted area to stimulate the body’s own regenerative abilities to heal itself. This has been a very successful modality in the treatment of HAIR LOSS, ACNE, CHRONIC ORTHOPEDIC INJURIES such as tendonitis, ligament sprains, knee meniscus repair, arthritis, joint sprains, intra-articular injuries, chronic neck, back, and spinal injuries, COSMETIC BENEFITS such as fine wrinkles, nasolabial folds, scar revision, bags and circles under the eyes, lips, and aging atrophy to the back of the hands. One significant benefit to PRP is that you are using your body’s own natural process so there is virtually no chance of rejection or allergic reaction.
The result of the treatment is the natural stimulation of growth factors which is injected into the treated area. There are no side effects but you can experience some minor swelling or pain near the injection sight. Platelet Rich Plasma has gained national attention recently due to the use by champion football players and professional golfers. This process is quick, essentially painless and uses your natural healing powers without surgery or drugs.
Use your own platelets to regenerate tissues naturally; this is the precursor to stem-cell therapy. In the past 20 years, the discovery of activated blood platelets that release healing proteins or growth factors has continued to expand. Learn more about this safe and unique process of increasing the baseline concentration of these platelets, yielding a powerful cocktail of growth factors.
Imagine regenerating your body with your own chemistry and cells – no drugs, no artificial products. Case studies show consistent results with improved skin texture and enhanced skin tone within three weeks. See amazing results within 4-6 weeks; discover the all natural autologous tissue regeneration. Your skin will positively glow!
Simple, quick and advantageous! The process consists of the following steps:
- Collect the patients blood into the THT ACR-Tube (7ml, venous blood)
- Place the blood into the centrifuge to create Regens Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma
- Inject the Regen Platelet-Rich Plasma into the areas requiring treatment
Injection Component
Aged skin has less collagen, low elasticity, reduced amount of hyaluronic acid,
and low ability to retain moisture.
Release of Growth Factors From Platelet Component (PRP)
Cell growth is activated, and collagen is produced.
Regeneration and Rejuvenation of Skin Tissue
Collagen is produced, and skin elasticity is improved. The ability to retain moisture is restored.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is the next generation approach appealing to clients seeking a natural method to anti-aging. This is regeneration with your own cells and more specifically, autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an aesthetic practice, which is a safe and tolerable procedure. Platelet Rich Plasma is 100% biocompatible and safe. It poses absolutely no infectious risk to the patient because it is made from the patients own plasma.
PRP Skin Regeneration Therapy, a type of regenerative medicine with the patients own blood, uses components called platelets in the blood to rejuvenate the skin. Based on an innate wound-healing ability, the therapy is performed by injecting components collected from the blood. Platelets contain substances called growth factors that activate and rejuvenate cells in the body. The growth factors, when released, induce the production of collagen and generation of new capillaries to rejuvenate the skin.
Platelets play an important role in wound healing. They provide initial hemostasis and release mediators to help modulate the inflammatory response and many of the cellular functions involved in wound healing. Contained in the alpha granules of platelets are multiple growth factors. Growth factors are proteins that impart particular biochemical messages to specific target cells through precise membrane receptors. Growth factors possess paracrine related properties which are stimulatory for mitogenic activities, cellular differentiation, protein transcription, chemotaxis, angiogenesis, and collagenase activities.
The entire process and injection time is simple and takes approximately 1 hour in total. Prior to treatment a blood sample of 10 – 20 ml is extracted from the patient. This blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells. The rich platelets are extracted and injected into the skin by an injection technique under topical local anesthesia. The forehead, peri-orbital region, cheeks, chins and dorsum of the hands, are the targets of aging and wrinkles, for rejuvenation. Platelets will gradually increase the amount of collagen produced which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin. PRP facial rejuvenation can be a one off treatment, but further microinjections can be re-performed at 4 weekly intervals for lines and wrinkles if the client desires.
Results are visible at 3 weeks and improve gradually over ensuing months with improvement in texture and tone. Further plasma treatment is also popular and safe. The amount of treatments will depend upon the health and age of your skin. Normally it is advised to have 2 – 3 treatments 4 weeks apart. However your clinician will determine your treatment protocol according to your skin condition. In most patients the results last up to 18months. Repeat treatments will maintain the results as well.
